A Comparative Study of Gun Violence in the World

Gun violence poses a significant challenge in the modern world. Gun-related violence refers to criminal acts perpetrated using small weapons or rifles. The proliferation of firearms has been implicated in the escalation of criminal activities as well as the perpetration of violence and loss of life on a global scale. The phenomenon under consideration has reached an endemic state, resulting in a higher mortality rate compared to HIV and other global diseases. Furthermore, there has been a notable escalation in the incidence of gun-related violence in recent decades, which can be attributed to the inadequate comprehension and contextualization of firearms legislation by certain political figures within a nation. According to Omics International:

"There are over 875 million guns in the world, of which 75% are controlled by civilians. Many handguns are owned for legitimate reasons, and most are misused. However, the 875 million guns, including the 25% that are controlled by the government, are used to kill as many as 1,000 people daily. Globally, millions are injured using guns."(Omics International,2014,1).

Gun violence on a worldwide scale necessitates widespread recognition and demands a comprehensive resolution. In accordance with my comprehension, it is imperative for each nation to impose stringent restrictions on firearm possession and collaborate in order to address the issue of illicit gun ownership.
