ABSTRACT
Effect of 2,4-D herbicide on certain biochemical parameters on albino wistar rats was assessed in this study. Twenty (20) matured albino wistar rats weighing 150 g – 200 g used in this study were distributed into five (5) groups with four(4) rats in each group respectively.Animals were orally exposed to 10 mg/kg body wt and 15 mg/kg body wt of 2,4-D and respectively treated with 100 mg vit. C and 5 mg vit. B complex daily for 28 days after which four (4) rats in each group were sacrificed and blood tissues collected for analyses. Blood for biochemical assay were collected in plane sample bottles and analysed for serum sodium, potassium, chloride and creatinine. Weekly changes in the body weight of the rats were also recorded.
