'Change and leadership in Nigeria', this article seeks to relate the roles of leadership to effect lasting, life changing and positive change in Nigeria. This work also itemise some of the pitfalls leaders who wants to effect positive change in their generation should avoid.

Successful change is one of the biggest problems that countries around the world face. In our fast-changing world, the strategic imperative to change is often clear.But change management research has demonstrated time after time that national change initiative fail more often than they succeed, despite the resources put into creating change management processes. Hence, the need for effective leadership to lead a successful change. It is however important to define the key leadership competencies necessary for a successful change, and better understanding of leadership behaviour that could contribute to change failure.
