This research focuses on the Child Street Hawking and the Development of Delinquent Behavior behavior in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State. The aim of the study is to examine the nexus between child street hawking and the development of delinquent behavior in Ungogo L.G.A. Three theories were used to explain how the street hawking influence children to delinquent behavior and the theory also explain the reason for the involvement of children into street hawking (The theories include Social bond, Blocked opportunity and Marxist Theory). Survey design method was adopted for the study in order to help to achieve the desired result. In the process, questionnaires are designed and distributed to 100 respondents in the study area who are selected through the use of simple random sampling method. Again this background, the research designs and administers 100 questionnaires to the selected sampled population in which 100 are dully filled and retuned without a case of missing response case. Accordingly. The study uses both primary and secondary data respectively. As stated ealier, the primary data are collected in the field by the research through the use of appropriate instruments (i.e questionnaire), but Secondary information for this research was mainly through various publications collected from the internet, text books, journals, reports prepared by various universities. The major findings of this research reveals that the majority of the respondents are youth and female constitute the highest percentage in engaging in the street hawking, however, On the nature of child street hawking in the study area the qualitative data revealed that the rate of child street hawking is high. The study recommended that, Government and policy makers should create more job opportunities. Government should also implement the relevant laws on parents/guardians who are found to be abusing their children through child street hawking such as “ parens patriae”. Education should be made free at primary and secondary level with the establishment of good model schools. Scholarship through higher institutions should be increased
