DC MOTOR SPEED CONTROL USING MOBILE PHONE

ABSTRACT

The DC motor speed control system using mobile phone is a device used for controlling the speed of a DC motor. It is powered electrically to vary the speed of a DC motor. This project makes use of dial tone multi frequency (DTMF) decoder after being powered to pick the key pad tones from the GSM phone, encode the tone in binary code to the programmed microcontroller which decodes the binary code and executes the speed control of the DC motor.

The speed of the motor depends on the number (button) pressed on the key pad of the GSM phone. When button one (1) is pressed, the speed of the DC motor starts increasing. When button three (3) is pressed, the DC motor speed maintains a constant speed. When button (2) is pressed, the speed of the DC motor starts decelerating. When button three (3) is pressed, the DC motor attains a constants speed again. When button four (4) is pressed, the DC motor stops operating. 

The entire work is well explained with simple and clear English language, pictures, diagrams and formulas are included to enhance the appreciation and understanding of students who will find this work most useful both in classroom and during their industrial training.
