The researcher investigated the educational challenges facing the hearing impaired pupils in selected primary school in Leseru Location. The purpose of the study was to investigate

education provision for hearing impaired children in the approaches of teaching resources used in teaching the number of trained personnel handling the hearing impaired learners, the attitudes expressed b~ parents, enlightening the general public about the needs of hearing impaired and then make recommendations with a view to improving their education.

The researcher used a sampled population of four regular primary school teachers, four (4)

teachers trained in the special needs education and four parents totaling to fourteen respondents with a sampled population of over (20) regular primary schools teachers from 139 primary schools. The researchers used qualitative approach to carry out the study. The researcher used questionnaires which had twenty —two items for both teachers and parents. The research was conducted from January —July 2015, with the researcher obtaining introductory letter from the University, pre-tested tools, made corrections, sought permission from Head teacher and started

his work. T~ researcher used tallies frequencies, percentages and tables to analyze data.

It was revealed that majority of regular teachers are not very positive towards their handicapped, and they should not be frustrated when learners take long to achieve, Regular school teachers should give a hand in assisting handicapped in the absence of their trained teachers. Parents are partners in the educational process of their children.

There was poor relationship between regular teachers and learners with disabilities. Pupils were nore secure in the hands of SNE trained teachers, handicapped learners were irregular at school

and all people i.e. parents, teachers, stake holders, NGOS should join hands to assist

handicapped learners.

lie envirq~ient should be less restricted, more teachers trained in SNE and open up more BARC centers to create awareness among people.
