This is not surprising and the reason is not far-fetched. The primary goal of Islam is to teach every Muslim the knowledge of Islamic studies as the requisite for proper understanding of the religion and moral values. However, No nation can develop when moral decadence overthrows good virtues, because morality is a vehicle to success. Therefore, Islamic studies  in  its  character  therefore  more  relevant  in  passing  good  moral instructions from generations to generation. Moreover it  is  evident  that  the  foundation of  education  in  Islam  is guided by  the principles  of  Quran  and Hadith.

The study recommends that teachers that lack competency in the Islamic religious studies should be encouraged and motivated to learn the Islamic religious studies. This will make them effectively consult the reference materials recommended in the curriculum. Teachers should realize that effective teaching can result in the attainment of both goals of students achieving good examination grades and positive behavioural change. Effective use of teaching aids is a good starting point.
