The study made use of two theories namely: Public Choice theory and Organisational Structure theory. However, the study revealed that the established institutional mechanisms have been both active and effective in carrying out their duties. Despite the institutions activeness and effectiveness, they face significant problems. The study recommends the independence of these institutions which would in turn affect the performance of the established institutional mechanisms.
