Parents' and Teachers' Roles on Improving Entrepreneurial Skills Acquisition for Self-Reliance Among Business Education Students in Colleges of Education in Enugu State

This study was on parents ‘and teachers’ roles on improving entrepreneurial skills acquisition for self-reliance among business education students in colleges of education in Enugu state. Two specific purposes and two research questions guided the study.  Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The area of the study was the State and Federal owned colleges of education in Enugu State. The population of the study comprised 66 business educators in the institutions. Four-point rating scale questionnaire with 10 items each in two clusters was used for data collection. The instrument was validated by three experts. After a test-re-test reliability test, Correlation Co-efficient (r) of 0.82 was obtained using Spearman Rank Order correlation coefficient and was adjudged quite reliable. All 66 copies of the instrument distributed to the respondents were retrieved. Data collected were analysed using mean statistics for answering of the research questions. Result of the study revealed that parents and teachers have very importance roles to play on improving entrepreneurial skills acquisition for self-reliance among business education students in colleges of education.  It was recommended that school administrators and government should encourage the students to acquire enough doses of entrepreneurial skills by releasing enough funds to support the efforts of the parents and teachers.
