Optical fiber in the communication system has become one of the most cabling attractive and commonly used to protection and safely and also transmission longer distance is possible also contain a large number of data rate and the demand for data communication is growing rapidly due to the increasing popularity of the internet and other factors. In order to meet the growing demands for bandwidth, However, there are some limiting factors for optical fibers during the transmission of the signal to Distance long of these problems is dispersion. Dispersion represents is one of the major limitations of data rate and maximum distance between end points, is a broad class of phenomena related to the fact that the velocity of the electromagnetic wave depends on the wavelength. In telecommunication the term of dispersion is used to describe the processes which cause that the signal carried by the electromagnetic wave and propagating in an optical fiber is degraded as a result of the dispersion phenomena. This degradation occurs because the different components of radiation having different frequencies propagate with different velocities. Although there are many dispersion compensation techniques but no enough comparison and evaluation for their performance. In this research, the solution is focused towards analyzing and compare between dispersion compensation, this research will evaluate and the performance of fiber Bragg grating (FBG), optical phase conjugate (OPC), dispersion compensation fiber (DCF) and electronic dispersion compensation (EDC), through comparing the eye diagrams and bit error rate and Q factor and threshold of these methods under different scenarios. In this research containing modeling, design, simulation for all dispersion compensation, in modeling used mathematic of the overall dispersion compensation techniques, Design and simulation using optisystem software give eye figures and analysis for all dispersion compensation (DCF, EDC, OPC and FBG). The result after the final evaluation and analysis of the performance of the four dispersion compensation After comparison and evaluation of dispersion compensation the four through the shape of the eye and BER and Q-factor and eye height and threshold all under the standard length of 100 Km found that FBG is the best type of the four types that you used in research because it gives the best results in terms of Q-factor high and the percentage of BER is very small and the eye height was high and a small threshold eye as open and clear.
