Abstract
Man is homo religious, that is, a religious man. Hence, man as man cannot but worship something. Religious worship, therefore, as an expressive human act of faith links man to God. More so, in religion, the creature pays homage to the creator. Nigeria is a religious country with many religions of which the cardinal ones are African Traditional Religion, Christianity and Islam. These religious practices through different forms of teachings, doctrines and principles are capable of bringing Justice, Peace and Development and indeed unify great many disparaging voices of wars and heartless threats of discord among the citizen of this country and at last help in fighting the invincible dreaded corruption. Using the method of analysis, the researchers find out that National Development is dependent on positive religious consciousness of the citizenry, the adherent of cardinal religions in Nigeria.
