select the respondents from Kampala district and all beneficiaries. The findings from the

research were in position to show the role played by broadcasting media in fighting

against domestic violence in Kampala. The report had five chapters with several sub

objectives, research questions, scope of the study and significance of the study, Chapter

fighting against domestic violence in Kampala district, Chapter three described the

methodology used in collection of data. Then after chapter four and five were added after

the research report was produced, Chapter four involved presentation, analysis and

discussion of findings and chapter five involved conclusions, summary and

recommendations. The study concludes that UBC Television is dealing in a variety of

things targeted towards prevention of domestic violence especially for the local people

but it still faces challenges like competition, resistance form community leaders and strict

media laws. From the study, it is recommended that if domestic violence is to be reduced

by UBC Television and adopted policies be made more effective and successful,

Kampala district as a whole, opinion leaders, parents, the government and local leaders

must connive and work together.
