Introduction
An Expository essay, also called informational writing, seeks to primarily provide detailed information on a subject matter so that readers become knowledgeable about the subject matter. An expository essay is a form of structured academic writing that uses factual evidence to explain or investigate a specific topic.
“Expose means to uncover or lay something bare, or to discover something in a way that others know what it is”
It has a purpose of explaining, informing, or describing. It doesn’t set out to prove a point, just to give a fair and balanced view of its subject matter. An Expository essay has a neutral point of view and is only focused on providing a factual analysis.
“Expository” means “intended to explain or describe something.”
It seeks to explain, illustrate, clarify, or explicate a topic in a logical and straightforward manner.
