Amongst tools used were ASP.Net which is a server side scripting language which supports session handling, SQL server 2008 was used as a database management system, Ozki was used as an SMS gateway, outlook was used as an e-mail platform and the system development life cycle as the development methodology. This document consists of five main phases; Introduction, Planning, Analysis, Design and Implementation phase respectively. The first chapter will describe the background of BDO Zimbabwe, the problem definition, aim and objectives of the project as well as the hypothesis and justification of embarking on the project. Thus this phase will explore the problems identified and the objectives of the study. The second chapter will focuses on how the project development time will proceed, as well as the activities that will be undertaken. At this phase the business case of the project is analyzed and evaluated through various feasibility scenarios. In the third chapter analyses of the current system is done through various information gathering techniques such as interviews, questionnaires, observations and diagrammatically represented. The fourth chapter will describe and diagrammatically present how the new system is going to be developed through context and data flow diagrams, its architectural, physical, database, program and interface designs and finally the fifth chapter will focus on the system coding, testing, installation and maintenance. The implementation phase is the final stage of the system development process where a unique installation strategy is selected such as direct changeover, parallel changeover and phased changeover. A post implementation review is also important as a learning phase and for future project reference.
