Community Participation And Performance Of School Administration In Apac District. A Case Study Of Inomo Sub County

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of community participation on

performance of administration in Apac district . The researcher used the objective of the study to

establish the findings on the ground which was to examine how decision making affect

performance of school Administration and the effects of management committee on

performance of school administration in Apac district. The study also found out the extend to

the community resources affects performances of schools in Apac district. ft was based on the

above objective that the summary of the study below is discussed.

The study was conducted as a case study and data was collected using simple random and

sampling method. The result of the finding indicated that the female were more than the males.

The finding on the first objectives indicated that community participation created a sense of

ownership of the development process of schools in Apac district. the finding on the second

objectives indicated that community participation in schools in Apac District encourage

transparency and accountability of school administration and the finding on the third objectives

indicated that the that community participation created a pool funds to support schools through

contribution by parents.

The study recommended that government of Uganda should review its education curriculum and amend it to provide for community support to the school . The Ministry of Education and NGOs should lobby for support of schools in improving their performance and policy makers should table a bill in parliament that looks at fulfillment of the needs of the schools.

The study suggested further research on teachers school attendance and performance in primary schools, taking a case study of Apac district, northern Uganda.
