ABSTRACT

The study was carried out to find out whether Contract a Ward affects service performance in the Public sector of Uganda. The study was carried out in KCCA which lies in the Central region of Uganda. While collecting my data, I used questionnaire and interview guides as the methods of collecting data. A total of 40 respondents was involved and the data was collected from both males and females. According to my research, the study of the findings revealed ~that Contract award affects service performance in public sectors of Uganda, and there were several challenges that are faced KCCA in service delivery to the people of Kampala city. The study recommends KCCA to award its contracts to the most eligible contractors, more of monitoring and supervision of the works and service performed by their contractors. The KCCA management should provide training to its service providers (developing it service providers) to ensure better service delivery to the people of Kampala. Lastly, management should involve the public the process of need identifications some that the public can not reject the projects because they will part of the project.
