60 PAGES (7131 WORDS) Computer Science Project
ABSTRACT
This work provide a basic introduction on the use of computer in medical practice and is aimed at computerized Homeopathic management system and its related processes at THE UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA TEACHING HOSPITAL ENUGU. It also identifies the procedure, process and tasks involved in the installing a computerized diagnostic system in the establishment which is operating a full manual system and the impact of such shift. The problem of efficiency, effectiveness and scientific methods of processing data in any organization is very important and the application of computer in the search for solution are very essential. A computerized medical diagnosis system which this project work addresses is made up of the software (intelligence) and hardware (computer) capable of carrying out diagnostic and prescription  undertaking by the doctor. This is made possible by artificially imparting the knowledge of human expert (medical Doctor) to the system. This system just like the doctor takes a patient through series of questions and answer sessions during which it record the symptoms. It can diagnose the disease and present prescriptions.
