DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF ELECTRICAL CODED DOOR LOCK SYSTEM

ABSTRACT

Whenever we think of redefined security, we think of coded electrical door lock. It is a microcontroller based security door lock that can be used in homes, offices, laboratories, etc. for more reliable and high fidelity door control system, powered by electrons panel or electromechanical panels. Due to high rate of insecurity, especially intrusion into homes and offices, this project provides the users with an electronic keypad to enter the password required to get access into homes and offices, etc. The control unit (PIC18F4520 Microcontroller) reads the code entered by the users and activates the port to which the motor (door) is connected when the correct pin is entered. Else, it sends signal to buzzer for security or wrong pin alert. This project also provides the users with a push button switch which aids the users to exit through the door without the use of keypad. Also, it is possible for the authorized user to change the pin (password) when the current pin has been divulged.

The prototype of the system is successfully implemented according to specifications and it is fully functional and user friendly.
