INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background to the Study:

Bookkeeping has become a practice for all business irrespective of the size and nature (Bindseil 2002). The rationale for bookkeeping stems from the need to have information on which business decisions are based (Mahout, 2003). To effectively manage, managers must have accurate knowledge of the entity income and expense. Consistent regular bookkeeping is the only way to keep track of this important information (Ewarhart, 2002) bookkeeping is the art of recording paunchy or business transactions in a circular and systematic marmer, and show their relation to each other, and the state of the business in which they occur
