ABSTRACT The purpose of the study to examine the relationship between microfinance credit and poverty eradication in Uganda. The study was guided by research objectives of examining the causes of pove11y in Uganda, examining the contributions ofmicrofinance credit services provided to the poor and establishing the relationship between microfinance credits and poveny eradication. This was accomplished using secondary data sought from sources such as journals. newspapers. report publications from institutions, periodicals which are found in Kampala international university library, public libraries. internet surfing and primary data from selected respondents from FINC A (U) Jinja Branch and tertiary institutions. The findings reveal that there is a positive link between the microfinance credit and poverty alleviation in Uganda. For instance the findings reveals that microfinance credits to certain extent has contributed to poverty alleviation to the population of Uganda blow the poverty line. Therefore in order to reap the full benefit ofmicrofinance credits. Government policy makers and other stake holders should properly channel the resources so as not to be misused. device means of educating people monitoring systems to alert them if they are reaching very poor people to the extent intended to them and consequently adjust their programs monitoring social performance, visionary leadership, subsidizing and transparency ofmicrofinance to poor people. The research study recommends adequate routine supervision by management on the client's enterprise investments, individual loan and introduction of grace period to clients who fail to adhere to the repayment period while dedicated FINCA is recommended to provide loans, credit guarantee and giving advisory services. These can be achieved if there is shared vision among the FINCA organizational structure. stakeholders, shareholders and the government at large
