Motivation And Performance of Secondary School Teachers in Juba Municipality, Central Equatoria State, Southern Sudan

ABSTRACT The purpose of the study was to investigate Motivation and Teachers’ performance in secondary school in juba municipality central equatorial state southern Sudan. It was guided by three objectives, namely; establishing the profile of the respondents, the level of teacher motivation, the level of teacher performance and the relationship between level of teacher motivation and the level of teacher performance. The study used descriptive co relational survey as its research design. 6 secondary schools from Juba municipality central equatorial state southern Sudan were Randomly selected to serve as a sample. The study used a sample of 95 teachers and 176 students. From the findings of the study it was revealed that there is satisfactory level of Teacher motivation, there is also satisfactory level of teacher performance and there exists a strong positive relationship between level of motivation of teachers and level of performance of teachers, The study therefore recommended that remuneration of the teachers should be improved and given in time. The schools also need to provide reasonable allowances and establish a conducive atmosphere through which teachers should be motivated to perform their task well,
