This study aimed at investigating the perceived influence of sexuality education of private secondary school students of Ipaja Area of Lagos state.
Purposive sampling technique was used to select four secondary schools which provided the respondents for the single questionnaire used for this study. A total of 233 respondents were used for this study and simple percentages were used to analyze the responses to the questionnaire.
The major findings of the study were that there was some influence of sexuality education on the sexual behaviour of private secondary school’s students, some level of achievement of objectives of sexuality education in private secondary schools and gender holds no barrier to the acceptance of sexuality education.
Based on the findings, necessary recommendations were made like treating sexuality education offered in schools with greater importance, training of teachers, provision of sexuality education resources by school owners’ and further research needed to be carried out on its impact.
