ABSTRACT Tlw s1 ucly investigated the effects of poor health on the learning of children aged 3-6 years in A.l.C baby home Kitui region and found that the homes arc vcrv essential in lhc lives of lhc developing children. The research gave the overview of the problem using funnel approach. A home is a place where family members live harmoniously and work together 10 sec' the prosperity and well being of every member as Benson M. 2008 viewed it. This research intended lo find out the causes of poor health in physical growth and its effects on learning to children aged 3-6 years and the possible solutions to the problem 'for the children to ilcndi1. The purpose of the study is to look for ways of curbing some of the problems which arc faced by children homes and ways of improving :.he lwal1h of a child 10 enable him! her lo learn without hindrances. The st uch seeks 10 understand clearly the effects of poor health on physical r1,·vclopmcnt of chiklrcn. The research was carried oul fairly because 1.herc was no language barrier. Despite the fairness of the staff, lhc I n.mspor1 wns a bother lo the investigation site and means of getting J•,;dniwcd diet were 1101 easy since the school was not financially stable. The rcscureh investigated on health and nutrition, nutritional care, physicnl development and play. Case study method in data collection was used. It was preferred for it involves intensive investigation on the problem ul hand. There arc two variables which arc independent that is learning which need lo be protected from all the limitations of growth and development while poor health is the dependent which should be controlled nol 10 interfere with learning /\.l.C Baby home Kitui region is in the central part of the district near lhc district commissions offices. The institution has a manager, subordinate staff, infected and affected children. The study used non- random sampling and snow ball sampling techniques. The research intended to get detailed information so \ mtcrview mcLhod was used. A questionnaire composed of questions for knowledgeable people were used. To analyze the data, quantitative method assisted the study because there was use of numbers, recording, ,rnahzing ,md interpreting of information. The background of the home, mms of the home and all activities carried out in the institution were dealt with. The research summarized all the findings, came up with conclusion and recommendation based on the Investigation were made. Delimitation and limitation of the study are also mentioned.
