ABSTRACT
The rapid growth in the use of wireless communication in mobile network devices has made many engineers and researchers to start to look into ways to enhance data transmission either in form of voice, text, data, streaming multimedia, internet etc. Wireless Services that occur in real time require very little or no bit error during transmission in order for the receiver to get an intelligible information from the transmitting station. Whereas some services require more data to be transmitted per second like streaming multimedia and internet services, these services require higher throughput in order to download or view the content efficiently. Adaptive Modulation and Diversity techniques are two methods used to ensure that the given frequency bandwidth for the wireless communication is effectively and efficiently utilized to ensure negligible bit error rate and higher throughput when needed. In this research paper I want to focus on Adaptive Modulation technique to maintain steady low bit error rate using MATLAB and Fuzzy Interface System. As the distance between the transmitting base station and the mobile receiver increases the Signal to Noise ratio decreases and also the order of QAM Modulation to be selected decreases to ensure a stabilized bit error rate and also as the mobile user comes nearer the transmitting base station, the order of QAM Modulation increases to ensure maximum use of available bandwidth for increased throughput and also stabilized bit error rate.
