ABSTRACT



 



This
research studies on information technology and organizational performance on
the banking industry with emphasis on Ecobank, Nnewi Anambra
State. Information
technology has been portrayed “as a kind of panacea and economic catalyst that
will proper organization to a position of strength in this world economy. The
statement of problem was centered on information technology on the operations
efficiency and profitability of Ecobank, as well as the way they complete in
the changing market environment. And how information technology has assisted
them in improving their quality of services. The objectives of the study were
to examine whether I.T has contributed to customer service delivery, cost
reduction, Bank profitability and the day to day operation of banking
institution. A critical Review of literature were also observed in the work.
Primary and secondary data were collected to achieve the stated objectives and
form research questions and two hypothesis were formulated and tested using
both percentage and chi-square x2 statistical tools. The data
analysis revealed that information technology is an important instrument in
banking system and enhances performance. The study recommended among other that
banking organizations should embrace information technology in all ramifications
to improve their organizational actual and potential performance.
