This paper is based on the study of the development of political institution in one of Agbon political bloc in Urhobo Land. It also introduces the Udobowe dynasty.
Many people and even learned personal confuse development of Ovieship elsewhere whenever the subject of Agbon monarchy is raised . However, the current monarchical arrangement that once produced Okpara and has been passed over to Kokori ,after the death of the Okpara Ovie, before was to get to Eku, and areas that make Agbon should not be aligned with the Udobowe dynasty. The formal was the post-colonial arrangement that cameto fruition after series of negotiations among people who made up the Agbon system. There is even a constitution to how the arrangement would hold.
Scholars in attempt to explaining political development in this system sense the presence of a manifold gap which they attempt to skilfully evade by juxtaposing unrelated events or facts that are too far to clip together . When they do they break the laws of periodization, material and so on. Eku and Kokori may belong to the same Agbon bloc but does not mean they are the same. Athen and Spartans were both Hellenist but did not have the same values ,history etc . The fallacy emerging from lumping historical facts without patterns can be seen in how writers use Osifo ascension in Kokori to explain development of monarchy in the whole of Agbon. Almost all the scholars that pose as Urhobo ethological Historian are guilty of this act. However, the Udobowe dynasty is made up of two kings . They are Udobowe and his son Omarka .
