Sustainable Integrated Model for Classroom Engagement

India’s higher education system, following the United States and China, is the third-largest in the world. Indian government already recognized the importance and spends 6% of GDP on education. Engaged students are expected to perform better. Classroom engagement refers to teacher - student involvement throughout the learning process. It is a multidimensional construct that can be measured with all the dimensions dynamically interrelated like Behavioral engagement, Emotional engagement and Cognitive engagement. With this preliminary information a conceptual research was conducted in this paper and understood the importance of classroom engagement and suggested advancement in its process. Art and science of classroom engagement represents the extent to which it can be personalised, learnt, gain perfection through practice and cause and effect approach. Paper further finds the best practises in other developed countries and suggests an integrated model where various innovative concepts are suggested for better classroom engagement.
