Abstract
This study investigates the Effect of Computer- Instructional Package (COMPUTER INSTRUCTIONAL PACKAGE) on the Performance of Senior Secondary Students in Quadratic Equation in Bida Educational Zone of Niger State, Nigeria. The study examined the significant of performances of students thought using computer instructional package andLecture method. The sample consisted of 120 senior secondary school students drawn from four secondary schools. Stratified random sampling was used to
select 120 students (60 male and 60 female). Two research questions and two hypotheses were formulated, and tested. The Mathematics Achievement Test (MAT)
made of 50 items of multiple-choice objectives type, developed and validated for data collection. The Mathematics Achievement Test (MAT) was administrated to students as pre-test and post-test. The result of students was analyzed using Z-test statistic to test the hypotheses. The result indicated that students taught using (COMPUTER INSTRUCTIONAL PACKAGE) package performed significantly better than their counterparts thought using the Lecture method of instruction. . Based on the finding it was recommended that Compute-Assistant Program should be encouraged for teaching and learning oF mathematics.
