Leadership Style and Organizational Performance in Selected Non Governmental Organisations in Bosaso District of Somalia

ABSTRACT The study was carried out to investigate the Relationship between leadership and organisational performance in select NGOs in Bosaso puntland Somalia.This study was based on five objectives that were; 1) To determine the profile of the respondents in terms of gender, age qualification and experience. 2) To determine the level of effective leadership. 3) To determine the level of organizational performance . 4) To determine whether there is significant difference between effective leadership and organizational performance. 5) To determine whether there is significant relationship between effective leadership and organizational performance. The researchers formulated one hypothesis to guide the study. The researchers employed random sampling method to draw a sample of ninety three (93) in the two selected ministries whose population all together was one hundred and twenty two (122)The researcher used the content validity index (CVI) that gave the coefficient of the both instruments as 0.7 and 0.84 respectively. The T-test and Pearson’s Linear Correlation Coefficient statistical analysis were used to analyze the data. The hypothesis was tested at 0.5 level of significance. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between effective leadership style and organizational organisation. Based on the findings it was recommended, among others, that community participation should be maintained, number of female and youth need to be increased.
