The Impact of Political Disequilibrium on Educational Development in Nigeria

An issue that requires attention is the impact of political turmoil on the progress of the education system in Nigeria. Consequently, the researcher has selected the subject of "the impact of political unrest on educational progress in Nigeria," aiming to ascertain the repercussions of political upheaval on the improvement of education in Nigeria, specifically in Edo State. Chapter one of the study focused on a specific research issue, which led to the formulation of five research questions. The researcher opted to utilize a set of study questionnaires that were produced and disseminated to students, professors, and lecturers from diverse educational institutions such as schools, colleges, polytechnics, and universities. The data obtained from the participants in Chapter 4 was assessed using the basic percentage method, which is considered the most direct technique for the researcher. Moreover, the evidence indicates that the political upheaval in Nigeria has hindered educational progress, impeding the intended expansion and development of the education sector. In Chapter 5, the researcher provides a concise overview of the main findings, conclusion, and recommendation. The key takeaway is that education should be dissociated from political influences and elevated to a higher standard.
