PERFORMANCE OF DATAMINING TECHNIQUES IN THE PREDICTION OF CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE

Data mining being an experimental science is very important especially in the health sector where we have large volumes of data. Since data mining is an experimental science, getting accurate predictions could be tasking. Getting maximum accuracy of each classifier is necessary, it is therefore important that the appropriate feature selection method is selected. Feature selection is highly relevant in predictive analysis and should not be overlooked. It helps reduce the execution time and pro...

EFFECT OF PLANT EXTRACT of Anthocliesta djalonensis ON THE ZONE OF INHIBITION OF MICROORGANISMS ISOLATED FROM FRUITS (ORANGE, WATERMELON, APPLE AND PINEAPPLE) JUICE.

The effect of Anthocleista djalonensis leaves on the zone of inhibition of microorganism isolated from fruits (Watermelon, pineapple, apple and orange) juice stored at 30+10C for 20days were investigated using agar diffusion and dilution methods. The result obtained reveled that the Zone of inhibition Staphylococcus aureus was 18mm (juice isoaltes), clinical 17mm while typed culture was 13mm. Bacillus cereus was 7mm (clinical isolate), while juice isolate was 10mm. The minimum inhibitory conc...

User Acceptability and Usability of Internet Banking In Nigeria: Case Study Of Zenith Bank Plc

ABSTRACT This study examines the acceptability and usability of Internet banking in Nigeria. One outstanding bank out of the twenty five (25) on-line banks that retained their brand names after the consolidation was studied in terms of factors affecting its online banking users’ acceptability and usability of its services and products.            The model used is a slight modification of the theory of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as proposed by Diniz in 1998, with an addit...

The Impact(s) of Wi-Fi Usage on The Behavioral Pattern Of Students In Iuctt Sri Damansara Campus Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

This study examines the impact(s) of Wi-Fi usage on the behavioral pattern of students in IUCTT Sri Damansara Campus. International University College of Technology Twintech is one of the private institutions of Higher learning in Malaysia.    The model used is a slight modification of the theory of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as proposed by Diniz in 1998, with an additional factor such as security and privacy, risk, and trust, Socioeconomic /Psychological factors as well as Operatio...

BRAND SWITCHING PROBLEMS (Using the 4major GSM providers in Nigeria as case study.

With respect to the overview and the information provided by the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) a research was carried out on the users of the four major network operators in Lagos sub-geographical region. However the objectives of this research was to x-ray the activities of this four major network providers amidst its users determining The most acceptable network provider/leading telecom provider with the largest subscriber base. The switching of brands amidst the users and the r...

Preliminary structural evaluation of an X-Field Onshore in Niger Delta using 3D seismic data

A structural evaluation of a post stack time migrated (PSTM) 3D seismic data over an X–Field in the eastern Niger Delta has been attempted. The objective of the study is to structurally evaluate the field with a view to identifying structural features such as faults, map geologic horizons and analyze reflection characteristics that might be a good lead to probable hydrocarbon accumulations. Results revealed that six growth faults (F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, and F6) and three seismic horizons (HI, ...

Properties of Operations on Soft Ideals and Idealistic Soft Ring

Abstract: Soft set theory initiated by Molodtsov is an important mathematical tool that deals with uncertainties about imprecision and vagueness. Research on soft ideals of ring has been carried out by other researchers. In this paper, we discuss on some properties of soft ring ideals and idealistic soft ring. We state and prove some important theorems and propositions on soft ring ideals and idealistic of soft ring that has not been studied by other researchers.

Differential Forms: A Tool for Linearizing Second Order Ordinary Differential Equations

Abstract: In this paper, we presented the differential forms method which is used in the linearization of second order non-linear differential equations. The differential forms used here is limited to 2-forms with their respective operations. After presentation of the method, an example is used to illustrate the procedure of the linearization problem. Keywords Linearization, Differential forms, Differential Equations, Second Order

Design and Implementation of Job Scheduling System

Job Scheduling System is a Software Application design to manage the daily running of taking client’s request, scheduling the request, assigning the request to Technicians and documentation of Jobs done by these Technicians. Job Scheduling System was designed for Concept Nova Ltd (an IT and IoT Solution Company)  to switch from the manual process of managing client’s request to a semi-automatic system for effective management of client’s request and proper documentation of these reques...

MACHINE LEARNING IN INTERNET OF THINGs

IoT have the potential to revolutionize the way we view and sense the physical world in the area of Health, Governance, Buildings (Smart Building and Smart Houses), Security, exploration of the universe, etc. But this revolution can only be effective with Machine Learning in the core of analyzing IoT “Big Data”. After all, “of what use then is harvesting huge amount of data across the globe if we cannot analyze them to make predictive decisions for a future that is uncertain and dynamic...

Isolation and Characterization of bateria from Panteka stream, kaduna, Nigeria and their potential for bioremediation

ABSTRACT Panteka stream is a flowing stream polluted with waste from the activities of mechanics. Water samples collected at different sampling points of the stream were analysed in order to determine the level of heavy metal contamination and bacteria diversity with the view to elucidating the bioremediation potentials of the bacteria isolates. Four bacteria species with high tolerance to lead, zinc, iron, nickel and cadmium were identified by morphological and biochemical analysis as ...

DESIGNING AN EQUISPACED LEVEL QUANTUM WELL IN THE ULTRA TIN LAYER OF A SEMI CONDUCTOR ALLOY

ABSTRACT A derivation of equispaced-level conduction band Hamiltonians using the coordinate-transform based procedure is presented. The procedure start with the effective-mass schrodinger equation (Luttinger and Kohn, 1995), where the local conduction-band edge is interpreted as the potential experienced by and electron in a quantum well (QW). The electron effective mass variation is proportional to the potential variation within the a QW, and the well has equispaced bound state. In semicon...

RESONANT TUNNING THROUGH QUANTUM DOT ARRAY

ABSTRACT This research work as aimed at calculating the resonant tunnelling energy of a quantum dot array which is the energy needed by a particle to tunnel through multiple barrier. A Hamiltonian of the form; H Was use to act on some states with different spin orientations to obtain four by four matrices. The Eigen value which was obtained can further be use to calculated the conductance in transition of the particle.     TABLE OF CONTENTS Cover Page: ---------------------------------...

PREVALENCE OF CHIKUNGUNYA VIRUS IgG AMONG CHILDREN AND ADULTS IN GOMBE

ABSTRACT Infection with Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) is highly infectious disease that causes some dermatological manifestations and clinical symptoms. CHIKV is a member of the family Togaviridae. Structurally, it has an encapsidated genome composed of single-stranded RNA. This study is carried out to determine the seroprevalence and prevalence of CHIKV among the residents of Gombe state. Total number of 90 samples was collected randomly from both sexes between the age group of 2-70 years. The b...
