Studies Of Aluminium Complexes Of Some Model Biological Ligands

ABSTRACT Complexes of Aluminium with some model bioligands, were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, melting point, conductivity, solubility and infra-red spectroscopic studies. The complexes are soluble in water and some organic solvents such as chloroform, ethanol and methanol. The melting point ranges from 258°C - 282°C for complexes with Al Cl3, and 8Ql C - 95 C, for complexes with AlNH4(S04) 2 .12H2 0. Conductivity studies reveals that the prepared · complexes are non-el...

Statistical Analysis Of The Impact Of Health Sector Reform On Life Expectancy In Nigeria

ABSTRACT This research work is aimed al studying the impact of health sector reforms on life expectancy in Nigeria using a secondary source of data ranging.from 1980 to 2014 obtainedfi-om the Central Bank Statistical Bulletin and World Bank indicator. Ordinwy least square of multiple regression models was used to establish the relationship betvveen dependent variable and independent variables. The data was analyzed using Eviews 9. 0. The finding revealed that out of the three unit root test c...

ABSTRACT This study is concerned with the female enrolment at the junior secondary school levels in Nigeria. In writing th is project, the approach has been to determine the trend in female enrolment at the junior secondary school level by the geo - political zones. Th i s research work is organized into five chapters. The first chapter deals with the introduct ion of the study. In this chapter, the background informat ion is provided, object ive of the study is outlined and the significance ...

Some New Encryption Techniques Using Firewalls And Random Number Genera Tors

Abstract ln this work, the researchers consider the concept of Information Security by the application of firewall and encryption techniques. Also, the problem of explicitly exposing infonnation in transit is discussed. We developed several algorithms. Among the algorithms are those of random sequence and non-arithmetic sequence using modified ' generators for the problem to secure information that may pass through intermediate computers l inked in the Internet. Some of these algorithms emplo...

Some Adjusted Ridge Estimators And Its Correlation

ABSTRACT The recently developed Adjusted Ridge Estimator (ARE) for handling multicollinearity problem in Linear Regression model does not require the use of the biasing or ridge parameter, K, unlike the Ridge Regression Estimators (RRE) rather i t requires a diagonalization of the correlation vector of the explanatory variables and the dependent variable being raised to a power of half In this research, the effects of other powers on the Adjusted Ridge Regression Estimator were investiga...

Solution Of Linear Algebraic Equations By Cramer's Rule Method Using Pascal Programming

ABSTRACT The purpose of this work is not to present a collection of routines that might appear in a professional software library; rather, the intention is to introduce a method of solving linear algebraic equations using Pascal Programming. This dissertation solves linear algebraic equations by Cramer's rule method using Pascal Programming. The basis for this method of solution was obtained from the knowledge of numerical method, such a method lies within the discipline of numerical analysis.

Simulation Of Real Time Analog Clock Using Brescenham Michener's Algorithm

ABSTRACT The project takes care of the algorithmic technique and computer programming in the simulation of real time analogue clock using Brescenham and Michener' s Algorithm. A simple graphic package (SGP) which are routines and identifiers compiled into a set of Turbo Pascal namely U-sgp-declare and U-sgp-2d were used in compiling the program. The Brescenhan and Michemer' s Algorithm which is the main stay draws the circle and also was used to calibrate the face of the circle as cloc...

Semantic Web - Creation Of Taxonomy For A Collection Of Journal Articles

Abstract The whole idea of World Wide Web (WWVV) was born out o f the desire that information should be shared. Presently WWW is really information domain. Today, users of the Web can easily access this information by specifying URI addresses, searching, and following links to find other related resources, but, in some cases users are taken to an irrelevant site. Another limitation of WWW is that the information can only be understood and interpreted by human being, it is difficult for machin...

Screening For Source-Sink Potentials In Some Sweet Potato (Ipomoea Batatas(L.)Lam.) Lines In Jos – Plateau, Nigeria

ABSTRACT Fourteen (14) sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas(L.)Lam.) clones, TIS.8441, Ex-Igbariam, TIS.86/0356, TIS.86/0306, TIS.2271, TIS.2532.OP.1.13, CIP 4400168, TIS.2544 Rusanya 1.5, TIS.82/0270.OP.1.85, TIS.82/0070.OP.120, TIS.8/637, NRCRI/UN/13, TIS.87/0087 and a farmer’s variety(Dan-Mangu), were screened during the cropping seasons of 2000 and 2001, to evaluate their yield potentials under the Jos-Plateau environment. The randomized complete block design was used with four replications. O...

Assessment Of Various Biochemical Changes In Hypertensive And Hypertensive-Prone Adult Nigerians In Jos, Nigeria

ABSTRACT A total of 1,075 fasting Human Serum and early morning urine samples were assayed for various biochemical parameters. The parameters include: Blood lipids, Total Cholesterol, High Density lipoproteins, Low Density lipoproteins, Vitamin A, Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Bicarbonate, Urinary glucose, Protein and Blood. From the results obtained, the calculated phospholipids:cholesterol ratio was less than 1 amongst the hypertensives. This confirmed the work of Stroev and Makarova, 1986; ...

Royalton Hotel Front Office Information System

Abstract A study of Royr.!1on l1Dh::s f;-0;1. o,Tice was ca:-ried out; to uriderstand the system and determine the information rcqui:·emcnL Duri;1g the course or this study, problcn􀁃s ai1cct ing the systems were identified. We then designed a new system which is computer based rulting into consideration the problems identified. This new sysl.crn will replace the olcl one. The Effect Of Temperature, Catalysis, And Dielectric Constant In The Kinetics Of The Oxidation-Reduction Reactions Of [N-(2-Hydroxy-Ethyl)Ethylenediamine-N’,N’,N’,-Triacetato Cobalt (11)] B

ABSTRACT The effects of temperature, dielectric constant and catalysis in the kinetics of the oxidation –reduction reactions (involving electron transfer) of N-(2-hydroxy-ethyl) ethylenediammine- N’,N’,N’-Triacetatocobalt (II) by Cu2+ cation were determined.  The dielectric constant was decreased from 63.05 to 43.18 and it was found that the rates of the reaction did not show any appreciable change. This seems to mean that the change in the dielectric constant of the medium had no e...

Design And Implementation of A Computer Based Automobile Falut Diagnosis System

Abstract This report on Design and Implementation of an Automobile fault diagnosis system is a web-based application developed to solve the issue of Automobile fault. The report is motivated by the need to guide car owners and learners of motor mechanics in the maintenance and troubleshooting of automobile problems without having to resort for presumptions and conjectures. The system features a simple user friendly interface that could allow you to search for solutions to faults developed by...

THE EFFECT OF BUCCHOLZIA CORIACEA ON RENAL FUNCTION INDICES AND OXIDATIVE STRESS IN SUCROSE FED PREGNANT RATS AND THEIR OFFSPRINGS

ABSTRACT   This study examined the nephrotic effect of Buchholzia coriacea formulated diet in sucrose-fed pregnant rats and their offspring. Buchholzia coriacea (B. coriacea) (family, capparidaceae) is a perennial plant commonly known as wonderful kola. Seeds were obtained from ogbete main market, Enugu state, identified, dried and grounded using a miller machine. 10% of the seed powder was used to formulate their diet. Thirty (240) adult female and six (6) adult male albino rats (180-250 g...
